No, temporary tattoos are not only for children. No, tattoos we find in chewing gum as a gift are not the 1st thing we think about when you talk about “decalcomania”… Well, not anymore.
The huge buzz provoked by Chanel in 2010 and its “tatouages éphémères” has been an example. Now, all famous luxury brand names create their own temporary tattoos lines and make this product super fashion. Every “it girls” wear these tattoos. Witness: Leighton Meester, the actress of Gossip Girl, the famous TV Show , in which she plays a rich girl (a total bitch !) of the New York high society, always wearing fashion design clothes, making the cover of Marie Claire in December 2010 with the Chanel dove on her shoulders.

We also talked a lot about Vuitton, Versace and Jean Paul Gauthier during their last fashion shows. (pictures here below). In another style, Christian Audigier attracts attention with his tattoos line as well.

JPG is so much in his tattoo period that he ‘tattooed” the Coca Cola bottles in the last ad campaign of the famous brand. We can see his face associated with a woman body integrally covered by tattoos.
The temporary tattoos infatuation is still at the top and who knows which luxury brand will be the next to succumb and to create its line?
Anyway, famous fashion designers are very conscious about the incredible quickness of the trend. They can only give their blessing to this kind of product : impressive when we wear it but which has the advantage to be ephemeral, letting free place for the next trends.

The temporary tattoo is a cheap promotional giveaway and very trendy, many big brands distribute temporary tattoos to apply in the skin, and mostly for children.
But few are those who really estimate the risk they are taking.
We must not forget that a temporary tattoos is applied directly on the children’s skin and are made to stay from 5 to 7 days, leaving time to the components tu spread up in the tissues. Therefore, a temporary tattoo must not be considered as a simple sticker but as a product which has to respond to the requirements of the cosmetic industry’s standards.
During the 20th world congress of dermatology that took place from the 1st to the 5th of July 2002 in Paris, Dr Martine Vigan, dermatologist at the CHU besançon, has sounded the alarm on this risk. In the composition of some temporary tattoos, we can find Paraphenylenediamine, which provoques late allergies. The result: the tattooed zone swells, turns red and itches. Even more serious, this allergy can lead to a long term hypersensitizing.
Some of the inks that are used to print some bad quality temporary tattoo, especially in Asia, contains CRM substances (carcinogenic).
How to be certain the temporary tattoos your company will distribute are 100% safe for children? That they won’t contain toxic componenents which could provoque allergies, eczema or worst…Cancer?

Summer is by far my favourite season.
It reminds me when I was a kid; My parents used to take us 3 fantastic weeks on the Atlantic coast of France.
We went camping, breaking camp each week between Biarritz and Bordeaux…
« Les Landes » was then the favourite region of my mother.
She loved the long rides to go to the beach, under the high pines forest who protects the dunes.
I still can feel the smell of the pine needles heated up by the sun…
We then spent the all day on the beach, building hundreds of sandcastles, destroying them with my father to bug my sister, braving the waves, swallowing a lot of salty water…
I think summers are the happiest memories of my childhood.
I imagine that for many people, summer holidays are great souvenirs because it a period when you forget all your worries, you just relax on a beach chair…you feel so good.
AND IT’S RIGHT AT THIS SPECIFIC MOMENT THAT OUR BRAIN IS MORE LIKELY TO ACCEPT AND REMEMBER A COMMUNICATION!
