In one week I’m flying again to China and Hong Kong. First I’ll visit the Canton fair, then visit a the factory of my friend Bill in Shenzen and then go to the famous Hong kong Gift and Premium Fair.
Hong kong Gift and Premium Fair : Many importers from all over the world will come to this fair to look for new items, new suppliers, new ideas. People from Australia, America, Mexico and Europe, all of them walking around in more than 7 halls filled with booths loaded with gifts and premiums. I like this fair, since it shows so well China’s world wide influence in the market of promotional products.
In ten years the faces of visitors has changed. At first I only saw real importers there, real profesionals, now, more and more, I see distributors trying to import directly from the Far East. Some succeed, others learn very painfully that experience is more than usefull in this market.
I placed many orders in China for many years, visited factories, met many people, but in the end, most of the time, you never know in which factory your products are really produced.
